BASIC INFORMATION
• Accessibility: The village of Csapi is located 14 kms north-east of Nagykanizsa. It is accessible by an access road from the 7.
• Characteristics: Its name was first mentioned in a written document in 1325. It belonged to the Csap family in the Middle Ages. It was destroyed during the Turkish invasion and resettled only in the 18th century. 238 people lived here in 1848. Viniculture has been very important. The number of residents has decreased since World War II. The unemployment rate is only 3%. The municipality wants to create lodgings and a cycle path in order to develop tourism, and also intends to financially assist those who want to settle here. There are thermal wells that can serve as a base for establishing a tourist center. They also intend to develop forestry as a branch of the economy.
