Phone: (93) 371-001 Phone/fax: (93) 371-466 Mayor: György Hegedűs Population: 1051 Characteristics: The territory of the village has been populated since the Stone Age. The name of the settlement was first mentioned in written documents in 1263. The Serbo-Croatian word means \'a place where there is a trench\'. First in 1566, then several more times, the Turks leveled the village, but it was re-populated. Since 1949, the population has been declining. The rate of unemployment is 10%. For centuries, the dominant source of income was agriculture. The market was in Kanizsa.
